This support page is for customers who have purchased vaBase web hosting. Some sections however, will be applicable to other hosting providers.
vaBase web hosting comes with an industry standard control panel, cPanel.
The control panel is where you can manage all aspects of your hosting including files, domains, emails, and much more.
To access your web hosting control panel please visit and save this link: https://host27.theukhost.net:2083/
You can login using the username and password provided to you in your welcome email.
It is important that you do not enter the cPanel password incorrectly too many times as this will result in your IP address being blocked. If you IP address becomes blocked you will need to login to your account at vaBase.com and raise a support ticket.
If you have opted to purchase a domain instead of using one of our free *.crewsystem.net URLs you will need to configure your domain to point to our servers.
You will need to:
Login to your registar/domain name provider
Edit/manage host records
Point your WWW and non-WWW A records to 109.203.107.26
Each registrar is slightly different but the process is the same. See below screenshot for how this is done in 123-reg.co.uk:
There are two ways to manage files on the server:
via cPanel > File Manager
via FTP Client
To manage files on your hosting server using cPanel you will need to go to: cPanel > Files > File Manager.
With File Manager you can view all of the files on your server, edit, upload, and delete. All of vaBase files are located in the public_html folder.
Instead of using your browser to manage files, you can also use an FTP client. vaBase recommends the use of FileZilla which can be downloaded for free at https://filezilla-project.org/download.php.
Once you have installed FileZilla you can now connect to your server. Create a new site in FileZilla and copy the settings from the screenshot on the left. Use your username and password supplied to you in your hosting welcome email.
You may be prompted with a secure certificate notification, please click OK to connect.
Once you are connected to your server, all of the vaBase files are located in the public_html folder.
vaBase web hosting includes unlimited email accounts. You can manage email accounts by going to cPanel > Email > Email Accounts.
To create an email click create on the email accounts page.
Once you have created your email you can now configure vaBase to use the account for sending system notifications.
Click here for more information on email configuration in vaBase.
The SMTP host name would be your website URL. For example: tls://demo.crewsystem.net.
If you use your own domain, configure an A record for mail.yourdomain.com to point to 109.203.107.26 and use tls://mail.yourdomain.com as the SMTP host name in vaBase config.
The username would the email address. For example: [email protected].
Use port number 587.
It is always highly advised that you take backups of the vaBase files on your web hosting before modification.
Do not download all files using an FTP client such as FileZilla as this can cause too many connections to the server resulting in your IP address being temporarily blocked.
If you want to take a backup of files go to: cPanel > Files > File Manager.
To take a backup of all files right click the public_html folder and select Compress.
You can now download the compressed file via your browser or FTP.
